Youth Choirs at St. Luke’s

Welcome to Youth Choirs at St. Luke’s – youth singing in South Battersea.

We’re excited to be starting up again on for the Autumn Term 2021, and we’re open to new singers!

We’ve missed singing this year at St. Luke’s. However, we’re now in a position to open St. Luke’s to our young musicians for rehearsals, fully compliant with the government guidelines for youth activities and Covid-secure venues. We’re able to restart our two choirs – Junior Choir and the Youth Choir, both on Thursday evenings.

Youth Choir – 5-6pm

Junior Choir – 6:15-7pm

Singing on Thursday Evenings. We plan to start rehearsing in a limited capacity on Thursdays for both choirs.

Junior Choir are robed choristers who sing at the first Sunday service each month during term time and also at special services throughout the year. Each chorister receives music theory training through RSCM’s Voice for Life Scheme, and we have plans to increase the provision of extra-musical tuition. In addition to receiving a small fee for each service, choristers enjoy special events and trips throughout the year. Entrance to the choir is through an informal audition. Ages 8-16.

Youth Choirs at St. Luke’s are a community choir, with an emphasis on high-quality choral singing in a friendly environment. Singers will develop a secure vocal-technique and learn a variety of music from musical theatre to contemporary choral repertoire. There is no audition. Ages 6-13.
